Laurie Whitfield

Lisa,

I feel your pain as a mother.  I of course have questioned God many, many times with Avery.  I have noticed the same as you...Through this journey He continues to show me how good comes from those who suffer and struggle for others.  Our children are special gifts.  There are chosen by Him for a special purpose.

Mallory is an amazing person and all of us are so blessed by knowing her.  I know she makes you so proud everyday.  She encourages so many people with her willingness to fight.  I know some days are so tough and we can"t imagine how Mallory deals with it.  She is blessed to have you just as you are to have her.  God doesn"t make mistakes and you were chosen for her as well.  We will continue to lift all of you up in prayer.  Praying for better days ahead.

With much love,

Laurie

I know Mal and all of you are Roll Tide ready!!! (Hope it made you smile.)

Mallory,

You have always been so wise beyond your years and yes, I think God "gave" you this journey because he knew you and your family could handle it and he knew you would do good things with it. I know it is still sometimes so hard but I still beleive he has good things in store for you and has blessed you in so many ways.

Now about your mom and dad. they are so amazing and awesome and I can"t imagine your journey without them there to cheer you on. You spent a lot of time cheering for others and now it is time for us all to cheer you on and we love you so much!

think positive thoughts about this new medicine. i hope it is goodbye prograf forever!

Hey my sweet angel! I wish I could put into words just how amazing I think you are. You have taught me so much about life, courage, love and faith. He picked you because you"ve not only done this for me, you"ve done it for so many many others. He has a purpose for everthing and He put you into my life for a reason. And oh how blessed I am for knowing you. You have impacted my life in so many ways. When I was growing up, my mother was my hero and role model. She was so much like you with her courage and faith. When she was called home to heaven, it left a really big hole in my heart. And then God sent you to fill that hole. A new hero for me to look up to and learn from. Mallory there are so many bible verses that come to mind tonight, but I know you know them. Thank you for being all the things you are to me. I love you more than I can put into words. I will keep the faith right along with you sweetie.

All my love and prayers forever and always, Nana

p.s. love you bnff!!

Hey Girl!

Just wanted to say Hey!! Your mom is right--you are someone to be proud of.  Anyone else in your situation would Debbie Downer (and rightly so).  Not you.  You just keep on fighting and pushing through.  What can I say?  I am blessed to have you and your family in my life.  Keep it up.  All of us will be there for you every step of the way...

Hi there Mallory! Sorry to hear about your labs, but hopefully the cyclosporine will be your bestest friend ever! You are a sweet, special young lady with a great family, but I know you get tired of all "this". I have a saying, "when the going gets tough the tough get going". I try to live by this, and other sayings I can"t mention! LOL! But anyway, take care and come see me on 4 east when you swing by CHOA, I"d love to see you and give you a hug!!!  Love, kisses and hugs! Jamie Blackwell

Hi Mal, welcome to the world of Cyclosporine. I am sure Izzie will love the stuff and you too! I loved what your mom said about you in here that God picked you because he knew you would do great things with this experience and take care of this liver. That is so true. I think we are the chosen ones. We"ve been given an amazing gift and purpose in life. Most people wouldn"t know what to do with it and aren"t strong enough to handle it but you are and God knows this. I"ve heard once, God doesn"t give us more than we can handle and I believe that.

Mallory, I am so sorry about your numbers not being as low as they should. But don"t loose heart darling.God has a plan...... He might be trying to slap some of us silly!!! I"m just sorry you have to be caught in the middle. Don"t take it personally. God loves you so much---He is actually playing tug-o-war with the devil. Of course, you know HE will never let nthe devil win!!! You are the best young servant HE has ever had. Satan hates that and wants to stop you.So hold your head up high, and keep on keeping on, because you and God together will win this battle.. PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!!

I LOVE YOU, MALLORY!! Along with half of America, and thousands of others all over the world. You will remain on my prayer list always. I trust that God will rectify things and you can continue to win souls for HIM. You are such a bright light of hope in Jesus for so many people. I hope you know that.

Your grandmaws" whole family (the nit-wits) all love you and are praying for you. Yes, we are a bunch of goof-balls, but God knows that laughter is the best medicine for everything. That"s why HE made us that way. HE knew we all would have a lot of hard times faceing us. So HE gave us a sense of humor. Ha! Ha! Ha!

If for some reason you don"t believe me take a good long look at your granny Kitty the next time you see her. I promise you will burst out laughing!!!!!

God Bless You each and Everyday in Yours and Izzys" walk with HIM!!!!

MY thoughts and Prayers Go With You Always!

Lisa,

That is one wise young lady you have there. We are all given  a path in life and must make the best of it. Some of us get to show others how it is done.

Mallory will certainly be up for her next challenge. She is a fighter. Will be thinking of her and looking forward to your next post with improved labs.

I was originally on prograf and cellcept. Then was switched to only rapamune. Now almost 5 years out I had to add the cellcept back about 2 years ago.

So Mal, keep that beautiful smile on that face and keep your spirits on good times. This shall pass in no time.

Jeff

The update from the Dr. sounds positive, even while it doesn"t tell you exactly what you need to know.  The good thing is that it doesn"t tell you that you are having rejection, which is a good thing.  I know that you would like to have an absolute answer and move ahead with an exact treatment, but you have to remember with what all you"ve been through, complete, absolute answers are probably going to be few and far between.  Do your best to keep that positive attitude that you"ve had all along, far better than most of could ever have had, and expect that your Drs. will be able to figure it out.  After all, they don"t want to look bad.  You are in out prayers daily.  Hang in there, girl.  We are proud to know someone as strong as you.  You have been a good example for all of us.

We are sorry to hear that your new DR. Ram is out of town.......But maybe that is a good thing!  Maybe he is trying to research with some new Dr"s that have worked with liver transplants. Pray that he can come across something new!

We sure are praying hard for strength for you and your family to get you through this bump in the road.....I sure wish I could be there to take some of the "sticks"  for you. They don"t bother me, but I am sure after 11 it would bother anybody!!!!  You are such a brave young lady, we are all so proud of you!  My church is sure praying hard for GOD to give you all the strength to get over this bump in the road!

I know your school is probably going to start soon so we are hoping that you will feel much better by then!  Keep the faith Honey and just keep praying to God!  Kitty sent me the picture you sent her in the hospital and it is just miraculous how you always have a sweet smile on your face no matter how sick you feel!  My SS Class calls you our Angel! So happy to hear there is no rejection!! We were told when they removed Avery"s liver that she tested positive for Autoimmune Hepatitis.  I have read a lot about it but I am still unsure about a lot of course.  I hate that you had to be stuck so many times.  I tell Avery all the time how brave she is and you are as well.  I admire you both tremendously.  Lots of love!
