Hey girl,

How did you like Columbus?!  I wish you would have called me...that is where I live!!!  I am so glad that you are feeling better.  Especially to make such a long drive as that.  :)  That is wonderful news.  I am so glad also to hear that Alex seems to be heading in the right direction.  Prayer makes all the difference in the world.  Without God we can"t do anything.  Keep up the fabulous work girl!!!

Darlene Thrasher/ Karissa Phillips Aunt

Hi Mallory,

I am Karissa Phillips aunt.  You have met me before but I don"t know if you remember me!  I have been praying for you and I am so impressed what a trooper you are, you go girl!  I just found out a few days ago about your website.  This morning I made the time to read some of it.  I am so sorry for all you have been through but you are an inspiration to us all.  I’m sure you have heard that Karissa is also very ill.  When I talk to her and read your website it makes me so proud of you both.  It also has made me think more about my life and realize I do have a

great life and I am not taking full advantage of what God has and still is blessing me and my 9 year old daughter with.  That is all going to change.

Wow!  In reading a lot of the things you have been though some of it is like I am reading about Karissa.  From the picc lines to the feeding tube etc.

I don’t want to take up to much of your time I just wanted you to know how inspiring you and Karissa are to me and I am praying for you both.

God Bless you both!

Feel free to call or email me if you want to any time!

Hi Mallory,

I am so happy to read that you"re back home.  I was in hopes that you"d be home for Easter.  It seems it worked out for you though because you now have great numbers and a plan to keep these numbers and improve on a few others.  I do pray that itching will fianlly go away!!

I am sad to hear that Alex is still having a difficult time.  It was so inspiring to read the guestbook entries tonight and feel how much you are loved by the doctors, nurses and medical staff.  I could just visualized that nurse ripping off her gloves, mask, etc to run to your room to make sure you were O.K.  What a comfort that must give you to know how devoted they are to you and to the others under their care. Blessing from Powder Springs,

Woo Hoo!  Great news!  I"m sure you are both glad to be home.

I also noticed in the paper yesterday the Georgia General Assembly made a law that if someone specified on their driver"s license or organ donor card that they are an organ donor, that decision cannot be overridden by their family.  (unless they are under 18) I think that is great.  If someone goes to the trouble to specify they want to donate, their wishes should be followed.  I know it is tough for anyone to lose a family member, but what a great way for them to give the gift of life to another.

I hope the families of Doug and Izzie realize what a great and special gift their loved one gave to such a sweet and wonderful girl.  I pray for them to find peace in the death of their loved one.

Please let me know if I can do anything for you guys!

Hi Mallory

I was Alex"s nurse in the PICU after both of his transplants but am not allowed to take care of him now b/c some other girls and I have seen him outside of the hospital socially. We"re more his friends, i guess you could say, than his nurses. I just wanted you to know, if you didn"t already how much I appreciate you and your families" encouraging and sweet words to Alex. He needs it so much, as you know. We all love him so much, and it just means a lot to see others expressing it as well. Especially you, b/c i know Alex thinks a lot of you, it means a great deal to him that you"re there and all the kind things you do to show you"re there. anyways, just wanted you to know. thanks again. And even though Alex may not be aware of a lot right now (b/c of being on the ventilator, being so sick, etc.), being there for him is still so important. Thank you, thank you for your prayers for him and being such a sweet friend. I love all of your art work too, so cute and cheery for him. I hope you"re feeling well and you have a wonderful weekend. I"ve never been on your website before or took care of you while you were in the picu but your smile is just so beautiful and full of life. I know why you and Alex get along so well, you"re both such an inspiration to everyone who meet you.

Sincerely, Lauren Westbury

Mal,

Can you please give your Mother my email address?  It"s lyndastrickland@comcast.net.  Nancy Johnson told us about you while my daughter was in HTICU in Birmingham. Your website was one of the first things that Erin was interested in seeing.  I believe seeing your beautiful pictures inspired Erin to fight harder.

God bless you and I pray that all your prayers will be answered.

Hello Mallory,

I have been praying for you for a very long time. I have just taken a new job at Children"s at the Office Park working for Don Mueller. On Friday last week, Don took me on a tour of Egleston and we came to your floor and met Dr. Heffron. I mentioned that I had been praying for you. We came to your room, but you were asleep and your mom must have stepped out for a bite to eat. We didn"t want to wake you. I"m sorry that we didn"t get a chance to meet. I"m glad to hear that you are getting better and I hope you are able to go home soon.  Kathy Chupp
