Hey I was doing some research on dialysis for school and came upon your website. Since I am about the same age I was really touched by what your going through. As a senior at my local college studying respiratory therapy I am often in the ICU and see many sick patients, but not many my age and it made me realize it could even be me someday that could be in your situation. For that reason i felt i should offer you and your family the best of luck. I hope all is well and i hope to make a difference in peoples lives when i graduate. Dave

Stay strong, and know that so many people are thinking of you and keeping you in their daily prayers,

Hi Mallory,

Praying for you to get some renewed energy today.  It seems like we may have a rainy day which will be fun for watcing some DVD"s or fun with your wwi.  Your mom"s entry said you"d have a clinic visit tomorrow.  I am lifting up prayers that those numbers you need will all get back to normal levels.

What a blessing you have had with the devoted Medical Staff members.  At such a young age to endure the things that have come your way has been a life lesson  to us that a strong faith and trusting in our Lord will get us through each battle.  I am a member of Katherine Arnold"s Prayer Army and added you to my prayer list long ago.

Checking in to know the specific needs and lifting you and the family up daily in prayer.  By the way, your brother was very brave and I am sure he"s learned a little of that from watching you over the months of facing your battles. Let"s do pray he"ll not volunteer again for tazing!!!  One less worry for your precious Mom and Dad!!! Blessings from Powder Springs,

Hey Mal,

Praying that you will not need the feeding tube but for a very short time!!  We had to go to Emory this week and we stayed at the Mason house.  I saw a friend who had a liver transplant last Feb. and he looked great. (He made me think about you)  You have been soooo strong through all of this.  Hang tough and know you have sooooo many on your TEAM praying for you.  Sometimes, I wish getting a transplant was like getting the chickenpox.  You get them, endure and then its over--But I guess then we would not be able to go back and see all the doctors and nurses that we love.

Happy Valentine"s Day!  Hope you ate lots of candy.  What is a girl to do when she is told to gain, gain, gain some weight?  Chocolate...girl"s best friend!  Hate to hear you had to get the tube back in. Yuck!  Keep on being the strong beautiful girl that you are!  We think about you a lot and people ask me all the time about you.  They always say, "How"s Mal doing?....She is such a beautiful girl!"  Just know that a lot of people still think about you and pray for you!  We miss seeing you.  Our next clinic is on March 19th.  Maybe we will see you then.

Hope your mom is feeling better.  You have such a strong, beautiful role model to follow.  She is such a wonderful mom! Bet I didn"t have to tell you that!

Wow, Mallory the first thing I thought of was dehydration and I am certainly not a doctor. I have heard my husband tell my daughter she drinks too many caffeine drinks and that causes her to become dehydrated and then she gets these awful headaches.  Lifting you up in prayer tonight that the medical staff can figure out the cause of your headaches.  You are doing SO GOOD and I don"t want to think of you having any pain!!!  Keep up the great detrmination and courageous spirit that God has blessed you with!!  Lots of Blessing sent your way from Powder Springs,

Hi, Mal.  So glad you are doing so well.  Every day you will get stronger.  Has the doc mentioned drinking Gatorade, Sports Drinks or Pedilight?  When I had my transplant, and even today, when I get dehydrated, I will drink these drinks.  Just a thought.  Keep your chin up and you will be through this before you know it!

Hey Mal!  I love it when you post something...lets everyone know that you feel good enough to!  So glad to hear that the feeding tube is able to stay out!!  I can only imagine how bad that is.  We are so proud of you being able to maintain your weight as well.  I figured you may have a hard time because of all the guitar hero action going on. = ) What a work out!  Some of our dear friends gave us a playstation 2 with the singing popstar game for Avery"s 1 year anniversary.  They figured it was something that the family could do all together.  Boy were they right!  We have had a blast with it!  Even Avery picks up the mircrophone and sings her little heart out.  MaKayla of course is a singing diva!  She is practicing for American Idol one day!  Thanks for the posting you left on Avery"s carepage!  It really made my day!  We will always have a special place in our hearts for ya!  May God continue to bless you and your family.

Love,  The Whitfield"s

Hello Miss Mallory,

Just wanted you to know I still check up on you...it"s nice to see that you"ve been stable enough that the updates are every other day! I can"t help but smile when I think of your doctor"s latest advice: Keep eating!! Keep drinking!! And then eat a little more, and wash it down with a big glass of H2O! Apparently your kidneys don"t want Izzie to get all the attention... :)

Stay strong!

xox,

Dr. J
