Mal, that was so funny about McDreamy.  Thursday night I was screaming at Meredith on TV, "Oh, you poor thing, the hottest doctor in th world wants to build you a home overlooking Seattle and you just can"t handle it".  Give me a break!

It is so nice to hear you as your normal silly self.  It is like a breath of fresh air.  Keep it up and stay positive.  Enjoy each and every day and keep finding the humour in life.

Michael, we all hope you feel better soon!

Hi!! You don"t know me, but we have A LOT more in common than either of us realize! No, I personally haven"t had a transplant, but my daddy had a heart transplant on October 2, 2007. I know exactly what you and your family are going through with all the meds, what you guys went through with all the waiting, and the up and down days that you face now. My daddy, much like yourself, was in dire need of a transplant. The doctors told him it was life or death. God decided it was life, and Daddy was blessed with a second chance. He has really good days, and a few not so good days. He hasn"t rejected yet, and we are praying he never does. He has AWFUL mood swings, but we take it in stride!! I"m sure you NEVER have those mood swings I"m referring to ;-)  Anyway. I just wanted you to know that your story really touched home with me. You are SO young and beautiful. You have a full life ahead of you, and I truly hope you embrace it! My daddy made many friends along the way, one being a 16 year old girl. She was a barrel racer in need of a double lung and heart transplant. The week daddy was sent home, he bumped into the girls family in tears. They found out she didn"t make it. It truly put things into perspective for us. Tomorrow is never promised, but God blessed you with a second chance. I believe you are going to do something GREAT with your second chance! I hope you embrace it and go change the world!!! Don"t let an IV or 30 different meds slow you down!! Change the world with it! God bless you and your family!!

Hi Mallory,

I loved reading your journal entry.  It cracked me up!!  You are so funny!  By the way since we"ve never met I"d love you to let me know what your major will be in college.  All your Dr. McDreamy and Bank of America men will be chasing after you when you get through this latest battle.   I am a Grey"s Anatomy fan also.  I felt the SAME way about Meridith. She needs to take a leap of faith and trust the Doc!!!

It"s great to know you"re feeling better and thanks for the icky medicine trick.  I"ll pass that on to my husband who"s a pharmacist.  It"ll be a good suggestion for his customers.  Hope your meds came in today. Blessings from Powder Springs!!  DE

Loved your post yesterday!  It made me laugh and it sounded like you were having some fun.  Since my transplant my kids tell me I am alot funnier.  Laughter always makes me feel better. Shortly after my transplant my 9 year old son had career day at school and of course he wanted to be an MD .  We had him dressed so cute with the mask and everything.  He comes walking into my room and goes mom I am soooooo tired and I said "Why son". He said "  Well, mom I just got done doing a heart, 2 lungs and a liver".  It was so funny.  I thought how many kids in the world like to play transplant??

Hope your having another good day!!!   Jeannie  Fuller

Hey Pretty Girl,

I don"t know where Brittany and I have been the last 1/2 of the year, but obviously we have been terrible friends not knowing what you were going through.  The last time I spoke with your Mom was right after your trip to New York on Spring Break and you were doing well.  I am so sorry that we did not keep up with what happened after that.  We often thought about you and continued praying for you and Doug, but assumed you and Doug were doing fine.

You are beautiful girl whose strength is incredible!  Keep fighting and getting stronger.  Brittany and I will come and see you next time she is back from college.  Love ya!  Janie

Allyson - Ainsley"s mom

Hi Lisa and Mallory- I have been keeping up with your reports and it looks like things are trending in the right direction. I completely understand your NG tube issues - Ainsley had hers for nearly 2 years. If you really want to add calories you might want to look in to a product called Duocal. It dissolves completely in liquid and adds 42 calories per tablespoon, but since it dissolves, you don"t add any quantity to the food or drink. You could dissolve 2tbsp (almost 100 calories) in a glass or milk and get almost 200calories in just a few ounces. I have 2 cans if you"d like them; they are leftover from when Ains" needed it. Just email me and let me know your address - I"ll send it right away. Anything to help get that dang tube gone! Ainsley still drinks 2 cans of Pediasure a day (morning and just before bed) for about 500 calories. Ensure for adults is about the same and if you keep it really cold and use a straw you drink it all in no time at all (I do that with my SlimFast - LOL!).

Hoe you turn the corner soon!!! You are doing awesome.

Allyson and Ainsley - currently in NJ but leaving for sunny FL very soon!!!

Mal,

I am so happy that you had a very "special" Christmas at home with your family.  Our Christmas was extra "special" as well.  As my 9 year old sons letter to santa on Christmas eve stated "This Christmas is very special because our family is together".  My family continues to remember you in prayer everyday.  You will gain your wt. back ! (it just takes a little time)  I am out almost 11 months from transplant and have gained about 25 lbs and now I have to learn how to slow it down .  Everyday gets better!!

Still praying!
