2 little weight gaining tricks, if you didn"t know.....

1. Eat right before bed.

2. Get some carnation instant breakfast powder and add it to things like yogurt, it adds calories.

Have fun eating!!  :)

Hey Mallory!

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas. On Christmas I read the update and it sounded like you did. YAY! I am so excited that you are feeling better. I am glad you got to go to Atlantic Station. i love that place! I haven"t been to the Dillards though. I will have to check it out. It think it"s cool that you and your mom have been able to go shopping. I remember my mom took me a lot to the mall after clinic visits that I had consistently right after my transplant. It helped me get to out and make myself walk around. hehe, As you know, we mainly have kid channels at Children"s, so I watched more TLC than I could ever have wanted. After watching What Not to Wear over and over, I really wanted to go shopping especially because us transplant kids aren"t able to for awhile. Then, I would sit in the fitting rooms to catch my breath and gear up to just look around. Hmmm, I guess your updates just reminded me of that. I hope you get your feeding tube out soon! I am sorry it got clogged. But I am glad your Mom seems to know alot of how to do everything. You guys are amazing! I hope you all get to celebrate New Year"s Day to its fullest with the new wonderful liver God has provided. TTYL!

Hey Mallory! Listen, I am so glad that you are doing soooo much better. It is a big time answer to prayer. Hey, I remember when I came to visit you back in October. You talked about how much you missed coming back for escorting the guys in January for Hoopcoming. Well, I was wondering if you wanted to come back and help me crown the Hoopcoming King. You weren"t able to crown the Queen, so I thought that this would hopefully be the next best thing. I would absolutely love for you to come, and I spoke with Mr. Richardson, and he said it was fine with him! So email and let me know. Hoopcoming is January 25th. I love you very much and look forward to your response!

Love,

Claire

I"m so glad you guys had a good Christmas! I thought about you all and prayed that the holiday would be even more special for your family this year. I"m in Florida right now, but I"m going to call when I get back to see when a good time for me to come visit will be! I worried about coming last week because I knew ya"ll would be having lots of visitors and trying to get things ready for Christmas, so I didn"t want to get in the way or overwhelm you guys! Talk to you then!! :)

Hi Mal and Lisa,

I just wanted to say PRAISE THE LORD for Mal"s continued improvement.  I am so happy to read the updates from her, as I know in the past few months, she hasn"t been able to correspond.

That is awesome about Michael becoming a Firefighter.  You know that my husband (Larry) has been a Firefighter (now FAO) for almost 25 years.  He is planning to retire at the end of September 2008, but that remains to be seen!

I"m so glad that you all had a wonderful Christmas together as a family AT HOME!!  We spent Christmas at my daughter and son-in-law"s home with those beautiful grandchildren.

I"ll check in tomorrow for my daily update.  May God Bless!

Much love to all of you,

Dorothy

We are thanking the Lord you are doing so much better and home for Christmas.

It is good to here you and your faimly giving our Lord Jesus credit for what he is doing in your life. I know it has been a hard road but the Lord will see you threw this valley.

Everyone at Noah"s church ( Sylvester Road Baptist Church ) are still praying and thanking God for what he is doing for you.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Mallory, I have been keeping track of your progress ever since Dana sent me the link.  You have been through so much to be so young....I know you more than likely hear that alot but you have.  You have had so much courage through this all and it is the kind that only God can give you.  You have so much faith and you know that is the one thing that will get you through it all.  I have an uncle who went through the same procedure and also had to have a second transplant less than 24 hours of having the first one.  We talk about you often because believe it or not you guys have a connection.  I was telling him about you and was talking of your doctors and yes he had the same doctors!!  Fazola did his transplants because Heffron was not available.  Just thought I would let you know that I think/pray for you daily.  You and your family are truely amazing!!

Santa has already been busy this year sending the Smith family a present on September 17th!  It sounds so good to hear you guys out doing the normal Christmas things that we all take for granted.  You are all such an inspiration of living life to the fullest and remembering the things that are most important.

Enjoy your Christmas Eve.  Mallory, most folks gain a few pounds during the holidays and this year I hope you will too.  I am still offering to give you some of mine!

Hey MAl!

I am so glad you are home for the holidays and making sausage balls. :) I am also so happy you are feeling better and being able to get some sleep. I am praying that you will get the feeding tube out soon. Sounds like it won"t be too far from now! It was funny because after I saw you a little over a week ago I ran into Dr. Heffron at Emory. haha I sneaked up on him because he was getting a coke at the soda machine with Dr. Fazola. Then, I saw him at the food court too!! I guess it is normal since he works at Emory, but It is fun running into him outside of the Dr"s office. Maybe we can talk him into climbing Stone Mountain with us someday. That would be great! I am so glad you are on the road to recovery! If you need anything let me know or if you just want to chit chat. My cell is 770-598-6995. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Thanks for letting my mom and I visit you! TTYS!
