Day 960 of our Journey

Hey, it"s Mallory. I went to clinic today and found out my enzymes are elevated more than usual. They want me to come back tomorrow and have an MRI and a biopsy. I am not too worried. They numbers aren"t really high enough to alarm me, so I am kind of shocked they want to do the biopsy but I guess its better safe than sorry. I am going back to clinic on Friday and will then know whats going on. I have a feeling that they aren"t going to find much, maybe just a little inflammation. please pray anyways!! Thanks, mallory

Please also continue to pray for the family of my mom"s coworker, such a sad story about her precious grandson. Thanks for stopping by. Incase you guys have forgotten.. roll tide roll! http://www.teammal.org/images/smile2.gif

Last week on Friday Mallory did go see an Endocronoligist at Emory.  It was decided to put her back on one of her medicines that the liver team had recently taken her off.  I think if they would just leave her meds alone things would stay stable for her!!  She did have blood drawn for some labs but we do not have the results of those yet, we hope to hear by the end of the week.  Well, that is about it for today.  Please say a prayer for one of my coworkers, Connie, and her family.  She lost her 3 year old grandson to child abuse this past weekend.  How anyone could hurt a sweet child is beyond me.  Have a great day!!!  Lisa

Hello Everyone, sorry it has been so long since our last update, keep in mind no news is good news.  We are still waiting to hear from the team at Emory about getting Mallory an appointment to get her adrenal glands checked out.  Mallory has sent them emails and called with no response so I emailed the coordinator again yesterday.  It has been 2 weeks since they decided she needs to go, it really should not take this long for us to hear something.  Mallory did go 4 weeks between labs at her last lab appointment and is scheduled to go four weeks again!  She is doing well but still having a few minor issues which we hope to get answers for after her adrenal check.  Thank you for checking in and please continue to pray that things continue in the right direction.  Have a great day...oh and by the way the Smith family is ready for football season!!!  Lisa

Hello everyone. First of all..its snowing here! yay! It is very beautiful,. Yesterday I had labs. everything came back pretty stable, but i was not feeling well so i saw DR and got some fluids. He wanted to also check in my cortisol level which may have explained my symptoms of fatigue and aching, and a few others. I had an email today from my coordinator confirming my low cortisol level. They will send me to see an endocrinologist to make sure my adrenal glands are working okay. I had a similar problem to this back in 08, and it was able to be controlled with meedication.

Thanks for all of your continued prayers.

love, Mallory

Just wanted to let everyone know that Mallory will have labs later in the week so be sure to check back.  Thanks and hope you all have a great week.  Lisa

Monday, February 01, 2010
Just wanted to let everyone know that Mallory is still doing well.  She will go next week for labs, this is the longest she has gone without labs since she became sick in July 2006.  This weekend she is a leader for Thrive at our church and will be spending the weekend with a group of 6 grade girls, please be sure to wish her luck. A few prayer requests, Kelly Shaw and McKay Martin, both young ladies around Mal"s age that had transplants and are having some issues.  Please also continue to pray for Ms. Juanita as she is currently having her radiation treatments in Birmingham.  Well, have a great week and I will update again soon.  Thanks for continuing to check on Mallory!!!!  Lisa

Tuesday, January 19, 2010
Hey everyone, I"d like to ask for you all to keep a friend of mine, McKay Martin, in your prayers. She had a liver transplant up in Pittsburgh when she was just a baby, and is now 22 and has had a flawless recovery. However, now she is starting to have symptoms of rejection/ liver failure and could really use our prayers! Since her doctors are in Pitt it is much more difficult for her to see them, so please remember her when you are praying. Thanks everyone!

Quick Update:  Mallory went to Emory on Tuesday for labs and clinic.  Her BR was 1.8, which is still slightly high, but her other liver numbers and her kidney numbers were all great.  She was told to come back for labs in 4 weeks...yep you read it right...4 weeks!!!  WOW, this is a first and is awesome news!!!!  Clinic again in 3 months!!!  Great News!! We are praying for a smooth road ahead.  Thanks for checking in and have a great weekend!  Oh yeah...can I get a ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Lisa

Saturday, January 09, 2010

Let me start by saying ROLL TIDE!!!  17 years, yes 17 years later and we have another title!!!  I believe Pawpaw had a thing or 2 to do with this!!!  It is great to be a BAMA fan!  Mallory is doing well.  She will go to clinic this week on Wednesday for labs and to see a doctor for a checkup.  She seems to be feeling much better other than continuing the ongoing battle of being tired.  Her classes started again last week, she is going to try to take 3 classes and 1 online class this semester.  If she can remain healthy and keep her strength up I believe she can do this.  Everyone else in the Smith family is doing well.  Please continue to pray for Ms. Juanita as she will begin radiation soon and will need some extra prayers.  Also, Ally, Eme and Aubrey (sick kids that I keep up with) need some extra prayers right now.  One more thing I would like to share, my resolution for 2009 was to read the entire bible before the end of the year.  So, I bought a new one in January with a guide of what to read each day.  I am proud to say I did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  YAY for me!!  God Bless you all.  Lisa

Hello everyone! We finally have some results.  The biopsy of her esophagus did confirm that she has yeast growing, so a medicine will be started for it.  She will start taking Diflucan, which she has taken before.  So far all the results on her small intestines have come back normal with a few still pending.  Mallory is feeling much better so maybe some of her issues were related to the medicine that was stopped and restarted.  She will go for labs again in about 10 days and see the doctor also.  Thanks for continuing to check on Mallory and for the prayers!!!  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  Lisa

Monday, December 28, 2009
Today we went to Emory for Mallory to have labs and an Endoscopy done.  We do not have her labs back yet but hope to get them tomorrow.  The Endoscopy showed that her esophagus is full of tiny white soars, likely a yeast infection, which is probably a result of her being immune supressed. She will probably be started on difulcan, used to treat yeast infections, and she has been on it many times. They are doing a biopsy of these as well as her small intestines to look for various things.  We were told we should receive a call on Wednesday at the latest to give us the findings of the biopsies.  I will update again in a day or so when we know more.  Thanks!  Lisa

Merry Christmas everyone. Let"s all remember the best gift ever given, God giving His son to be our Savior.. the very first Christmas gift, and certainly the best! God Bless everyone! Mallory

Wednesday, December 23, 2009

Well, Mallory is feeling a little better, but still not great.  We did find out that her magnesium level is critically low, so we have started back the supplement for that.  She has just been taking it easy and trying to drink as much as possible.  We will go back to Emory on Monday for more labs and an Endoscopy.  That is about it for now, I will update again in a few days and thanks for checking in on Mallory.  Have a good night.  Lisa

Sunday, December 20, 2009
Hello everyone.  We are in need of some extra prayers for Mallory.  She has not felt good at all lately.  We spent the day at Emory on Friday.  She had labs, fluids and an abdominal ultrasound, we hope to have some results tomorrow.  They talked about admitting her but she really did not want that so we are trying to manage things at home.  Her stomach is giving her a hard time and she is really not feeling well.  Please pray for her to feel better, for us to get some answers and for things to get better soon.  Thanks for checking in.  Lisa

Thursday, December 17, 2009
Hey guys, its Mallory. Well i had my labs done and liver numbers are stabling out but bili went up quite a bit, and so did kidney numbers, but that makes sense because i am surely dehydrated. I have still been getting very sick so I am having to miss my bible study christmas party tonight, which is such a bummer because I love everyone there and we always have fun. Tomorrow I am going to emory again and will be seeing a doctor to hopefully find some answers! Please pray that I will get some answers and start feeling better very soon. Thanks guys.

Tuesday, December 15, 2009
Mallory is going to clinic tomorrow at Emory for some labs and a few other tests.  She is having some stomach issues and they need to find out what is going on, she hasn"t felt too good lately.  Pray for some quick results and easy treatment.  I will update when we know more which might be a day or so.  Lisa

Monday, December 14, 2009
Hello all!!  Mallory finally heard from the liver team at Emory and they told her to restart the Actigall and get labs in two weeks, well now in a week.  Mallory was not comforatble being off the Actigall so she had already started taking it again.  She will go for labs early next week so I will update again after that.  Please send up a few extra prayers for her, she has been so tired lately and really not feeling GREAT.  Thanks for continuing to check in and have a great week!!!  ROLL TIDE AND GO MARK INGRAM!!!!

Wednesday, December 09, 2009
Hello all!  Sorry I did not update sooner but we did not get lab results until late today.  Mallory did not go Monday because she had a final at school, so she went yesterday.  Her liver numbers were pretty stable with a very slight increase, except the bilirubin that went down to 1.3.  So, we are waiting to hear from the doctors to see if they want to do anything at this point.  I really think she needs to start the actigall back again, which I think we are going to do.  As soon as we hear what the plan is we will let you know.  It might be to simply wait and watch.  Thanks for checking in, oh and..........ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!  SEC CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, December 04, 2009

Happy Friday everyone, so glad the weekend is finally here.  Mallory went to Emory for labs today, she received a voicemail tonight from Diane her Coordinator to let her know that her liver numbers had gone up.  Her BR was 1.5, (lower than last time) her AST, ALT and GGT have all increased.  With that said they did stop one of her meds (Actigall) a few weeks ago.  In the past every time this medicine was stopped her numbers went up.  So we are going to be optimistic and blame this on the medicine change.  Diane said they want Mallory to come back on Monday for some additional labs and we will go from there.  Maybe they will put her back on the Actigall and things will get back to normal.  So, please say an extra prayer or two for her.

Other than that she is doing very well these days.  Next week she will have two finals at KSU and will then have several weeks off.

I am sure most of you know that BAMA has a huge game tomorrow.  We are all pumped up and ready, if Bama is as ready as we are they will have no problem with those Gators!  Roll Tide!!

I will update again after we know more on Monday!  Oh and be sure to leave Mallory a note, she loves hearing from everyone.

Just letting everyone know everything is going well.  Mallory has labs tomorrow so I will update more sometime over the weekend!  ROLL TIDE!!!!  BEAT TEBOW!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today was a great day, Morgan, Kim, Steve and Cynthia came in town and spent the day with us. Angela came over to eat, but Michael had to work. It was our first Thanksgiving without him here. We had so much food... turkey, ham, dressing, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, deviled eggs, dumplings, peas and cranberry sauce. It was really good, and made me think of all of the families Northstar helped to feed this year with all of the donations. I got teary-eyed saying our blessing, as I gave thanks to God for those willing to fight for our country, including my cousin Destin, and Paul. We also got a great surprise after lunch, Destin called and we all got to speak to him for a minute! It was great. I hope everyone had a great day and got to make some special memories. We ALL have alot to be thankful for and I am glad we all can use this day as a time to count our blessings. God Bless! Mallory

Mallory went to Emory on Friday for labs and clinic.  Her numbers were better, her Bilirubin was back down to 1.7, still little high but much better.  They stopped two of her medicines and she will have labs again in two weeks.  Her magnesium is low so she has started taking a supplement to help with that.  Other than having some sinus issues she is doing great.  We are going tomorrow to see the Rockettes in Atlanta...girls only!  Mallory, Rachel, Dana and myself, I know we will have a blast.  Michael and Angela are doing great and so is Mike!!  Mike had a problem with his sciatic nerve recently but is much better now.  ROLL TIDE!!!!  Another win for Bama today!!  Take care and thanks for checking in!!  Lisa

Hello everyone!  Just wanted to give a quick update on Mallory, she seems to be feeling great these days!!  She is going on Friday to clinic and to have labs done, so we will update again after her appointment. I love you Mallory!

I wanted to also ask everyone for some specific prayers:

Juanita Macomber, she is the mom to Robert, my mom’s husband.  She is a dear sweet lady and was just recently diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer.  Last week she had more testing done and now we are waiting on the outcome of those.

Destin Baker, my nephew that I am so proud of.  He will leave later today for Iraq.  I am so proud of him and love him so much.  Also, Paul Gulledge, my nephew n law, who left last month for Irag.  Proud of him  and love him also!!

Below are links to 2 websites of kids I have been following.  I have never met these kids or their family but their stories are so amazing and they could both use some prayers.

I putting these requests here on Mallory’s website because I know a lot of folks read it…never can have too many prayers.

Thanks all!!

Hey everyone it"s Mallory! Well today I got back the results from my biopsy. There is no rejection! They said the liver is sort of inflamed, they will check labs next week to look for EBV, the virus i had in September. Other than that things are looking great and I am feeling great. Thank you for the continued prayers! Mal

We went to Emory today for Mallorys" biopsy and she did GREAT!!  In the past she has always been completely sedated for this procedure and stayed at the hospital.  Emory does things different, she had the procedure done in clinic with just a local to the sight area.  I am so so proud of how well Mallory did today.  The doctor even let me stay in the room during the procedure, I just stood back out of the way.  Thanks to Diane, Mal"s new coordinator, for being with her during this entire process.  We hope to have some results tomorrow, it will  probably be late in the day before we hear anything but we will post an update as soon as we do.  Thanks for the prayers!!  Lisa

Monday, November 09, 2009
The biopsy is scheduled for 1:00 this Wednesday, the 11th.  We probably will not have results until Thursday so check back for another update on Thursday evening.  Thanks!!

Saturday, November 07, 2009

Mallory went yesterday to Emory for labs and she also got the swine flu vaccine.  Late yesterday Diane (her coordinator) called to say her bilirubin is 3.0 and her other liver numbers had gone up slighly also.  So given her history with rejection episodes, the plan is for Mallory to get a biopsy next week.  Someone from the liver clinic will call us early in the week to schedule the procedure.  She is having some sinus/cold issues and is not feeling well at all, her voice is pretty much gone today.  Please send up some extra prayers over the next few days for Mallory.  I will update again when I have a date and time for the prcedure.  ROLL TIDE!!!!  Lisa

Hello everyone!  Mallory is not feeling too good today.  If you could throw up a few extra prayers that would be great.  She will have labs on Friday so I will update again afterwards.  Thanks!!!  Lisa

Hey kiddos. I went to emory for labs again today and they were good! Still high but stable! I went to visit egleston today, it was nice to see some old faces =) and by hat i dont mean old.. i mean former..lol. But anyways, i am getting labs next week and probably the h1n1 vaccine. i found out today i will be allowed to get it, and since i am a high risk they strongly urge me to get it. Well thats all for now. Oh yes congrats to mommy for finally winning her game of spider solitaire on medium! hehe

Thursday, October 22, 2009
Mallory had labs on Tuesday and we got a copy of the results today.  Everything looks pretty good except that stubborn bilirubin which was 2.0.  So, the docs want her to start getting labs done weekly again so they can keep a closer eye on her liver numbers, just being cautious which is good.  Mallory has decided to just make the drive to Emory for labs right now, LabCorp is so slow with getting the results to Emory, not impressed at all with them.  One of her classes ended today, she still has 2 until early December and seems to be handling them well.  We are all very excited about football right now, ROLL TIDE!!!  I will update again next week after labs.  Lisa

Wednesday, October 14, 2009
Just a quick update...Mal is doing well these days, she is still taking 3 classes at KSU, this seems to be a good managable schedule for her.  Labs will be done again next week, she seems to feel good just the usual tiredness.  This past weekend we all went to Kansas to attend a party given by Angela"s family for she and Michael.  The plane right out there was a little scary and it was cold but otherwise we have a good time and the party was fun!!  As you know by now Bama won again and we went up in the rankings to Nbr 2!!!  ROLL TIDE and have a great week.  Lisa

Thursday, October 08, 2009
We FINALLY have labs!!  Mallory"s Bilirubin was 1.7, most of the other numbers were holding stable and pretty normal.  Labs will be rechecked again in 2 weeks.  Mallory has been feeling pretty good these days, she didn"t feel well on Tuesday but seems to be better now.  We are getting ready for the weekend and some Bama football.  Hope you all have a good weekend and we will update again soon.  As always, thanks for checking in on Mallory.  Lisa

Monday, October 05, 2009

Hello everyone.  I know I have not updated in quite some time, I will try to do better.  Mallory has been feeling pretty good here lately.  She is going for labs tomorrow, this will be her first labs done by LabCorp for her Emory doctors so I am really not sure when we will have the results but we will post as soon as we do.  She pointed out last night that her eyes are a little on the yellow side so please say a prayer that everything is okay and that her numbers will be good.  Thanks for stopping in and expect another update in a couple of days and oh yeah, ROLL TIDE!!!!!!  Lisa

Saturday, September 26, 2009
Hello everyone, sorry it has been so long since our last update.  Mallory had clinic and labs at Emory on Friday. Her bilirubin was 1.9 and her other liver numbers were perfect, so it looks like things are headed in the right direction.  She was in and out of there pretty quickly and liked the doctor that she saw.  She was also told that they think they have a reason for her hospital stay last week, all of her lab results came in earlier this week and she had tested positive for EBV, so she was tested again Friday but it takes a few days to get the results.  She does seem to be feeling better so maybe the results will come back negative, please pray for this specifically!  Alabama had a great game today...ROLL TIDE!!  Thanks for stopping in and take care!!  Lisa

Yes!  We are home.  We are so thankful for all the prayers, they have worked!!  Well, 2 years ago around this time we were waiting for Mallory to come out of surgery!! Happy Anniversary to Mallory and Izzie.  Although, we don’t know anything about the donor or the family of the donor, we are so thankful for their gift, the gift of life that saved Mallory.  I am sure this family is having a difficult day so my prayer is for God to ease their heartache and to give them comfort in knowing another life was spared because of the selfless act.

I remember exactly where I was sitting when the surgery ended.  I was sitting against the wall on the 6th floor at Egleston, I sat here so I could see Dr. Heffron the moment he came through the doors.  Finally, around 8:30 he came through the doors, exhausted.  He gave us an update on the day and a few minutes later the nurses came past us with Mallory.  She was still completely out with machines every where and the tears began to flow. Thank you all for being on this journey with us and for praying for Mallory and our family, we love you all.  Lisa

Here is the last journal entry on the day of the surgery…..September 17, 2007

Update #6 9:00 PM

WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!!!!!
We just saw Mallory, being wheeled down the hall to the ICU ward. Dr. Heffron met us in the hall and gave us an update on her condition. Dr. Heffron told us that she received 24 units of blood during the 11 hour procedure. He also told us that the extraction of the old liver was very difficult. To quote Dr. Heffron “It was rooted in”! Dr. Heffron told us that this was one of the most difficult liver removals he had ever done!
He was very pleased with the new liver and was able to use her existing artery and connect her old bile duct to the new liver (VERY GOOD FOR BOTH).

They tested her blood and her Bilirubin and it is DOWN to 6!!!!! Praise the lord! Prior to surgery it was 26. Mallory is being settled in to the ICU ward and will be on a respirator until sometime tomorrow. Like they told us before she will be closely monitored over the next 24 hours. We are thankful for and are still asking for everyone’s prayers.
We also want to thank Dr. Heffron and all the people who assisted with the surgery (If we had all the names we would put them here too!!).
With our joy is also sorrow. We have prayed for the donor’s family and the life saving gift they have given our daughter and family. We are thankful to God for our gifts we have received and pray that we can also one day bring the same joy to another deserving person. We will be posting more updates as we have them.

THANK YOU EVERYONE

The Smiths

Wow...how fast things can change!!  Mallory"s numbers were better again today, her Bilirubin is now down to 2.6.  She had an MRI done yesterday and the doctor said it looked great!  The biopsy and bile duct check has been cancelled and later today she is going home!!  Her magnesium was low today so she is getting some via IV, which blew AGAIN today and had to be replaced.  Sometime after lunch we will be heading HOME SWEET HOME!!  Also, today is the 2nd anniversary for her 2nd transplant, Happy Anniversary to Mallory and Izzie..or as Malllory puts it Happy Liverversary!!!  I will update again tonight so be sure to check back later!  Don"t forget to leave a note.  Thanks so much for all the prayers, they worked!!!  Lisa

Today Mallory was suppose to have a biopsy and bile duct check.  As we have learned in the past things always change when you are inpatient.  Both of these tesst have been rescheduled for tomorrow.  Her bilirubin did go down to 3.3 today but her liver numbers went up a bit.  She did have a MRI done a couple of hours ago of the liver to check for flow, etc.  I am sure we will have a report from that tomorrow some time.  We are praying that the liver numbers will just come down on their own tomorrow and the test will be cancelled!  Mallory is just tired and having headaches today.  Thanks for checking in and for praying for Mallory!  Lisa

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

We went to Emory today and Mallory has been admitted.  Her bilirubin is up to 6 so she needs to have some test done to see what is going on.  She had a chest xray and EKG tonight.  Tomorrow she will have a liver biopsy and bile duct check.  She does not feel well at all.  Please pray for quick answers and quick results! Sorry for the short update but I am just so tired!!!  Lisa

Monday, September 14, 2009

Hello all!  Well, we had a busy weekend full of fun to celebrate Mallory’s big 21st birthday.  Saturday we headed over to Tuscaloosa for the day, it was great to be among fellow Bama fans.  We went to the Bear Bryant Museum and as we were leaving the entire football team and coaches went by and we were able to get some good pictures, Mallory even got a Hey and Roll Tide from Coach Saban!  We then attended an event that is held each year for folks named after “Bear Bryant”.  Most of you probably know that Michael’s middle name is Bryant.  We, of course, did a little shopping and added to our Bama items!!  Michael and Angela stayed for the game, I think we have reeled Angela right in to our Bama excitement!!  Mike, Mallory and me decided to head home, it was a long and tiring day.  The first half was not pretty but we did kick butt the 2nd half and came out on top!!  ROLL TIDE!!  Then, the festivities continued on Sunday with lunch at Olive Garden, three of Mallory’s very best friends were there and she was so surprised and happy to see them.  Thanks Haley, Alyssa and Rachel for joining us!  So, as you can see it was a busy weekend!  Now on to more serious matters, Mallory is not feeling well at all!  She had a rough afternoon and night last night so we decided to call her doctors.  She was scheduled for her first visit with the Emory doctor’s for this Friday but since she is not feeling well they are going to see her tomorrow morning at 9:30.  She is very tired, running a low grade temperature and having some pain issues.  Her eyes are a little yellow so we just need to get some answers and sooner rather than later.  I am sure the first thing they will do is to run labs and then we will just go from there.  I will update after our appointment in the morning.  I have no idea what to expect at Emory since this is the first visit to the new doctors.  Everyone…please pray for Mallory and a quick easy answer!  Thanks for checking in and be sure to check again tomorrow.  Lisa

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MALLORY!!!  WOW, 21!!!!

Today is a special day, Mallory is 21!!! I cannot believe she is already 21, time certainly does fly when you are having fun!  Over the past few days I have been thinking a lot about the past 3 years and I am absolutely blown away by how much Mallory has been through.  It has certainly been a rollercoaster ride!!  Two years ago when she turned 19, she was at Egleston, very very sick.  She was given a surprise party by her awesome nurses and a small party with a few family members and some great friends.  The thing I remember most about her 19th birthday is that she was so sick that she did not even open her presents!  She was on the list for a 2nd transplant and just 5 days after her birthday was wheeled into surgery.  Here we are 2 years later and while there are still issues from time to time….Mallory is in college and moving on with her precious life!  I could go on and on here but I am getting emotional and I don’t want to mess up my makeup…LOL!!!  I will post again in a day or so and tell you all about the gifts and festivities of this HUGE day in the life of Mallory Smith!!  We love you guys and could not have gotten through this without our wonderful family and friends.  God Bless and Roll Tide!!!  Lisa

Mallory had labs on Tuesday and they were pretty good.  Her liver numbers and one of her kidney numbers was up but just a little.  She has not felt well at all this week, so she went to our family doctor yesterday and found out she has a sinus infection.  He started her on an antibiotic, hopefully after a day or two of the medicine she will start to feel better.  Please pray that the antibiotic will work without causing any liver issues.  Also, please say a prayer for my nephew Brantley, he was diagnosed with Swine flu today and is not feeling well at all.  We are ready for the weekend and the Bama game!  Mallory has a big day on Saturday, it is her birthday and she will be 21!!!  Don"t forget to log on and send her a birthday message.  Thanks so much for checking in and for the continued prayers.  Lisa

ROLL TIDE....that game last night wore me out!!!!  I wanted to give a quick update on Mallory.  The past few days she has been running a low grade fever and just not feeling great and tired.  A little bit ago her temp was 100.6, tylenol does bring it down.  Not real sure what is going on with her and this low grade fever thing.  I guess we will call the liver team if this continues for some guidance.  Please pray for this to quickly get under control and for Mallory to feel better.  She will get labs done on Monday or Tuesday so I will update again after that.  Thanks!!  Lisa

Hello Everyone!  Mallory had labs today and everything continues to look very good.  She has started her fall classes at KSU with 3 classes for the semester.  She had signed up for 4 and a lab but she decided after the first week that was just too much too quick.  I keep telling her she does not need to be in a hurry and she should just do this at a pace she is comfortable with.  Other than the evergy level still being low she is doing very good, we are so thankful for all our answered prayers.  In a few weeks she will celebrate her 2 year anniversary of the 2nd transplant...time sure does fly!!!  Thanks for checking in and be sure to leave a note.  Have a great week and God Bless!!!! Lisa

So, we are back from New York and the trip was great!!  We had so much fun and saw a lot of neat stuff.  Mallory had a rough few hours on Sunday and just did not feel well, stomach problems.  I got her some medicine, she drank as much as she could get down and took a nap and after a few hours was feeling better.  I will try to get some pictures posted soon.  She had labs today, her kidney numbers were perfect and the liver numbers were up just a tiny bit, so all in all they were good.  Mallory joined a new bible study for females that started tonight and also still goes on Thursday night to the college bible study, I am SO proud of her.  Her fall classes will start next week, so please pray for good health and for her to be able to handle her classes!  Thanks so much for being on this journey with us and have a great day!  Oh and Happy Birthday to my nephew Destin, we love you!!!  Lisa

Hello everyone.  Thought I would give you a quick update.  Mallory is still very stable and doing good these days.  She is still having a problem with getting tired rather quickly but I am sure that will get better over time.  She has had a few stomach issues this past week but otherwise doing good.  She and I are leaving Saturday morning for NYC!  This is the trip we were supposed to take last October but Mal had some liver issues and we were not able to go.  Please pray for our safety and for Mallory to feel great while we are there.  Michael and Angela are doing great and just getting settled with their new life.  Please say a prayer for Munchkin too, one of her liver numbers (ha ha of all things) is elevated so she is being tested for cushings disease.  Labs will be again on Tuesday of next week so we will update after they are done.  Thanks for checking on Mallory and be sure to leave a message.  Lisa
