Dear Mal,

I just read your story and am inspired by your fortitude. I had a liver transplant 12/17/08 and have been pretty lucky. Some speed bumps a long the way but eventually it all evens out. When I do have a problem, I think, alright I have a used part that requires maintenance. Lets fix this problem and move forward. I know its hard but you must keep moving forward.

thank you for the update :) I have been anticipating it all morning.  :)

Praying for Dr. Ram and all involved today to have Gods wisdom on the next best thing for Mal. Also praying that Gods Peace gaurds your heart and mind today. Praying you feel His love and arms just swarmed around you!

Praying that Mallorys lungs are HEALED!! Jesus paid the price in full for this on the cross, and we are healed by His stripes!!

Praying that the lies and schemes of the enemy are completely and utterly destroyed by the Word of God!!

Hey Mal,

I don"t even know where to start. It has been a while since I"ve left you a message and its still hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that you haven"t even read the last one. I am so ready for you to wake up. You are going to be amazed when you read your own story and when we tell you everything you"ve been through. Everyone keeps saying it and it is totally true, but Mal, you are a fighter.

A long time ago I remember having a conversation with you about family. You seemed to feel like you were different from everyone else and I have to tell you I"ve realized you are. I think you said it like it wasn"t a good thing or like you didn"t feel like you fit in, but that could not be more untrue. Your individuality is missed so much. No one in our family has burst out in a cheer about bananas and no one has made us laugh hysterically about "Bob" or "Gin"... You are such and important part of the Smith family and it has really been dull without your fun, sweet personality. I miss you so much, Mal you just have to get better.

I know this is getting long but I think you should know just how much we all love you. No two people on earth could love you more than your mom and dad. They are constantly near you and you are never left alone at the hospital. Your MawMaw and Robert come to the hospital every day and spend their nights at your house taking care of Munchkin and Jude. They love being in your room just holding your hand. Michael would live at the hospital if he could. He is there every spare moment and when he is not there he is checking his phone every five seconds just to make sure you"re ok. I"ve never seen a brother with as much love to give as Michael. I love you too, Mal and I wish I could be with you more (the CMV is dangerous for Dierks). You have people all over the world praying for you. Keep fighting!

As a mother my heart just ached at what you have been through, I can"t imagine even going through a fourth of what your young precious body has, and the strength, courage, love, and patience your parents have.
