Mallory, You are constantly on my mind. I check your website first thing in the morning and last thing at night (not to mention several times during the day. :) ) You are such a special young lady and such a fighter! We have to get your lungs to cooperate and heal. This keeping you sedated is driving your family crazy. We need you to get better so that you will be able to wake up, laugh, smile and talk to everyone. Special prayers for you and your family, Melissa

I"m delighted that you are doing so much better today, Mallory!  I"m hoping you are just resting up for Saturday"s game because Alabama is going to need you to cheer for them.  Rest easy, my friend, and know that hundreds of people who look to you as a source of inspiration are thinking about you and praying for you daily.

Dear Mallory:

I met your mom in the elevator today on my way home. I was curious and asked her what the words on her T-shirt meant. She said TeamMal was a website they created for you. She said that you had received 2 liver transplants and told me about you being in the hospital right now because yoru lungs were acting up. I will be thinking of you and hope that you get better soon.

Mallory when you wake up and read all the post on here you will be amazed at the support you have from everyone.  Our God is so awesome and He is right by your side.  I love sitting in the room with you every day and Robert does also.  We  lay our hands on your head and pray for you every day.  It was so good to hear Dr. Ram say today that the last six hours have been your best.  That was early this afternoon and your numbers are still staying stable.  What an awesome way to start 2011 if you would wake up and look at us.  We are praying for this to happen.  God Bless you sweet Mallory.  We love you...Maw Maw and Robert

Mallory,

Just wanted you to know that I am still praying for your healing.  I know right now there must be a lot "Why"s"  but I believe God has a purpose and He will see you through this tunnel.  Just look at all the lives you have touched, the doctors, nurses, patients and their families.  Not to mention, people like me... I have never met you, but I pray for you daily.  I went to high school with Dana Hooper. I feel like you are now part of my family.  I check on you every day. Please know prayers will be going up for your recovery and the healing of your lungs.  Stay strong...Just remember, if we could see the sand there would only be 1 set of footprints because God is carrying you in His arms.  God Bless your parents and family.

Hi all- it was good to see you yesterday although it saddens me not to be able to see Mals beautiful face smiling. I know she is sooooo strong and you all have such strong faith that is carrying you through this crisis time. You are so in my prayers. I had my husband add her to our church prayer list and they prayed for her last night at church. I wish there was more that I could do---- like prayer is not a HUGE thing!  I know that God does not put more on us than we can handle so you all must be extremely strong! Love you bunches!

Hey sweetie, glad you had a decent night. I hope today is just as good. I will be getting a Team Mal shirt soon. I am going to wear it as soon as It arrives. I still have the one you gave me. It makes an awesome sleep shirt.

The new year is almost here and I hope it brings you lots of health and happiness. I hope you are able to be awake before midnight tomorrow night so we all can have two reasons to celebrate.

Hi Mallory!

I"ve never had the pleasure of meeting you but I check your site daily and have done so for the past 2 years.  You WILL pull through this complication.  My prayers have been going out to our Lord several times a day to heal you of this current illness.  You are the strongest person I"ve ever known or known of.  2011 will bless you with greatness!

To Mike & Lisa-

My prayers are with you as well...I know this is very hard to watch your beautiful baby girl in such pain.  Your love for Mal is unyielding.  I would love to purchase a "Team Mal" shirt if you still have any available and I will wear it with pride!  I"m not sure if my email addy shows up...and I know you are more concerned with making sure Mallory is well so I understand if you can"t contact me in purchasing the shirt.

I think we all need to be sporting the "Team Mal" shirts right now!

Much love to you all!  While you don"t know me....I would love to help you all in any way that I can.  If you all need anything at all, it would be my pleasure to assist any way I can!

I"m going to post Mal"s website on Facebook so that others can learn of Mal"s journey and send more prayers up to our Lord.

With Love and Prayers,

Hilary

Dear Mallory,

You are an amazing young lady. Continue to fight, you have proven your strength and courage!  ~ When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.  ~Harriet Beecher Stowe~

May God Bless you and your family!

Malory we have never met but I have been following your story. I hope one day when you get better I will get the chance to speak with you and speak about the amazing journey you have been through. Dear Smith family, I know this is the hardest thing that you have had to go through in your life. I can tell you just by reading Mal"s journal you are doing all the right things and should be so proud of your faith and the job you are doing to get Mal better. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

    Hi
My name is Sandy and I am a friend of Dana (ex-sister-in-law), and she has been posting a lot about you on Facebook. I am really praying that you overcome all that has been sent your way, I have always been told that God only gives us what we can handle, so we have to believe that he is putting you through this for a reason. I have been reading your journal everyday, I check quite a few times a day. I will keep you and your family in my prayers as it is really hard to be a parent and just sit and watch your child go through really hard things and not being able to do anything to help, I have been through a great deal with my daughter over the past 2 years and finally after having brain surgery to have a  VP Shunt placed she is doing somewhat better, still has bad days and they have had to adjust the shunt but hopefully we are a the end of ordeal and pray that you are too.
My daughter and myself will keep you in our prayers and hope to hear very soon that you see your family and friends that have been there with you, and that you are on the road to recovery. I was so touched when I read everything that you have been through, hang in there and May God Bless You!!!!!!!!!

Oh Mallory!

Hey girl :) I am going to come by for another visit tomorrow, and hopefully I can talk to you, but whether I am able to go in or not, you know my prayers will continue to go out to you and your family. We all miss you a lot and it"s hard to see you like this but I KNOW you will come out of this. You"re a fighter and from all of the stories from our friend and your family, I know that you"re the toughest (and most inspiring) person I have ever met. I can"t wait for you just to wake up so we can catch up! When you are all better, we are going to laugh and go do something fun, and maybe even be gym buddies like we talked about :) Regardless, I know how amazing and strong you are. You will pull through. You"re winner!

Love ya!

My dear Mallory,
You still haven"t left my mind since you went in! I keep thinking of all our childhood memories. Riding around to Wal-Mart and the mall with MawMaw Bonnie and Aunt Kitty and we just couldn"t stop singing "I like it! I love it! I want some more of it!" I"m sure it drove everyone nuts! And that time MawMaw Bonnie and Lisa took us to Babyland General! I know I probably haven"t said it nearly enough in these recent years, but I love you and you"re incredibly special to me. I"m so glad your doctor is working so hard to help you win this fight. I know you"re going to win. You"ve just got to hang in there and keep fighting, cousin. <3

Wednesday, December 29, 2010

I wanted to share with you my favorite verse for Bailey, which has always brought me comfort and reassurance.

"...For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,
"Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future..."

Jeremiah 29:11

I know that God has many wonderful plans for Mallory.  I pray for healing rest so that she can continue to be a spotlight for God"s glory.

Dr. Ram sounds like a wise man who knows what a fighter Mallory is and knows there is no obstacle she cannot overcome. She will get better and she will prevail over this illness. She is young and has her whole life ahead and she will look back on this time as when angels ministered to her and God walked with her every minute of every day comforting her.  Mallory is so special and her smile lights up a room. She is a good person and everybody who knows her loves her. A lot of prayers are going up to God now and He listens and He has good things planned for Mallory.
