Hi Mallory and family,

I found out about you through Lauren Crouch.  My heart goes out to you.  I lost my baby girl two months ago at six days old due to complications from Wolf Hirschhorn syndrome. Since having my daughter, I have a special burden for people suffering from genetic diseases. I am so touched by your story, and I will be praying for you all.

i hope you are doing better. i was so sad the other day thinking about you and that you weren"t doing well and it broke my heart. you are such a wonderful friend and you"ve always been there for me. i said a little prayer and the next day i heard that things with you were improving and it made me so happy! i feel so bad for everything and im glad youre battling it out. if there"s anything you need i"ll be there in a heart beat! you are such a strong genuine person, a great friend, and i miss you girl! I"ll pray and be thinking about you everyday just wanted to let you know! Leighton misses and loves you too.

It"s kind of two steps forward and two steps back! I hope she does get off the vent soon as I think that will make her much more comfortable. Sending prayers up for a diagnosis so they can figure her out and get her well.

After a rough night, we"re praying today is much better and y"all get some answers. Lisa, I"m so thankful Mal has such a good mommy to take care of her. God knew who to give Mallory to and I know you both are a blessing to each other. The whole Smith family comes together during these tough times and that"s so great y"all have each other.

Good Morning Mal,

I hope you will get a chance to read all of these wonderful messages of courage that so many people has sent - I have spead the word and told them what an amazing young lady you are and how your faith in God is so strong!  You are a true inspiration to all of this - just keep fighting and getting better.

I know you are getting frustrated with the feeding tube and breathing tubes but they are there to help you get better - just listen to your sweet Mama"s voice as she tells you "everything will be OK" - right now this is the best for you and I am so sorry you had a bad night last night - with all you have been through you need some peace in your life.

I got to spend some quality time with Joe the other night when I picked him up at the airport and I can tell you that you have a keeper - he is a wonderful young man who loves you will all his heart - so keep getting better so you can have a wonderful life with him.

I love you like I do my own children and pray for you several times a day!!

Mallory- I hate that you are having to go through all of this!! Every time I think of you it makes me smile with all of the silly memories I have of you from high school (one of which involves a silly creation in art class of a skiing bunny or some such creature that always comes to mind when I think of you). You have always been a wonderful and incredibly sweet person that is so much braver than I can even imagine being. I am praying for you and your family and just wish I had known you were back in the hospital sooner. God bless you pretty girl!
